Wildfire Status:
The Juliet Pass Fire in Armstrong County, Texas, has reached a size of 2,963 acres with 100% of the perimeter contained. The fire was initially reported as extremely active in tall grasses due to high winds gusting over 40-50 mph and low relative humidity. The fire spread approximately 30 miles east from Highway 207 to Highway 70 north of Pampa, Texas. State resources have been deployed, and Texas A&M Forest Service crews are working in unified command with local resources to manage the blaze.
The incident commander, T. Wells from Texas A&M Forest Service, is leading efforts to create a safe containment line using heavy equipment and fire engines on the scene. The current weather conditions pose challenges, with high winds and low relative humidity forecasted to persist through Tuesday and Wednesday.
