North Twin Fire has burned 518 acres, burning 6 miles north of Fritch.

The North Twin Fire started at approximately 12:30 PM on April 4, 2026, approximately 4.5 miles northwest of Sanford, TX. The fire was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance with aircraft, heavy equipment and firefighters. The fire is currently in joint command between Texas A&M Forest Service and Stinnet Fire Department. Multiple other fire departments on scene include Fritch, Border, Skelly and Hutchinson. The fire is reported as multiple roadside starts.
Air resources are currently working on the left flank of the fire. The fire was actively running in grass and brush. As of 2:30 PM, forward progression of the fire has been stopped.
