Mistletoe Fire has burned 523 acres, burning 12 miles southeast of Amarillo.

The Mistletoe Fire was reported on December 25, 2025 at 2:36PM, south of Amarillo and east of Lake Tanglewood. The fire started just south of E Farm to Market Road 1151 and E Costley Road and is spreading through tall, cured grasses.
Elevated fire weather, including abnormally high temperatures, low relative humidity and high wind speed of 30+mph, is supporting moderate to high fire behavior.
Texas A&M Forest service is in unified command with Randall County Fire. Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) and local fire department resources have been mobilized. Aviation resources have been ordered and are supporting fire suppression efforts from multiple dozers and motor graders.
Forward progression has been stopped, no smokes are currently visible on the fire.
