Arbor Fire has burned 127 acres, burning 1 mile north of Seth Ward.

The Arbor Fire started on the afternoon of February 17, 2026 approximately 2 miles north of Plainview, Texas and was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local fire departments.
This fire started during a period of elevated fire weather, including higher than normal temperatures, low relative humidity and strong winds out of the southwest, is supporting elevated fire behavior where dry to critically dry vegetation is present on the fire.
A Post Fire Assessment Team in en route to the fire to complete a structure damage assessment. More information will be available after the completion of that assessment.
