Tule Fire 2025
Tule Fire has burned 2,547 acres, burning 22 miles northeast of Plainview.

At 1:23 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance on a fire west of Silverton.
The fire started off of Highway 86 and initially had two head fires. One head has stopped at Highway 207 while the second head pushed north into the canyon system due to high winds. The fire initially exhibited high fire behavior and burned in rough topography with heavy vegetation. Forward progression was stopped by 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 4.
In coordination with local fire departments and County officials, Texas A&M Forest Service crews and aviation resources, including two large airtankers and three single engine airtankers, are responding.
