Bell 2.0 Fire has burned 346 acres, burning 3 miles north of Dickens.

The Bell 2.0 Fire started at approximately 11:30 AM on March 26, 2026, approximately 3.5 miles north of Dickens, TX and was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance with aircraft, heavy equipment and firefighters. The fire is currently in joint command between Texas A&M Forest Service and local firefighters.
Extreme fire behavior was exhibited on the fire Thursday. Aerial and ground firefighting resources worked on the fire. By 5:15 PM, forward progression of the fire had been stopped. By end of shift, ground and air resources had made lines around much of the fire. Juniper fuels within the lines were smoldering. Firefighters will return to work on the fire, Friday.
Friday (1:00 PM) - Heavy equipment is making progress rehabbing the containment line on both flanks. Some hotspots remain within containment lines but are being mitigated by engines. Firefighters continue to patrol the fire's edge.
Friday (9:00 PM) - Containment lines are still holding through the high wings.
Saturday (2:00 PM) - The fire is 100% contained. This is the last planned update for this fire.
