The Neon White Fire started just after midnight on April 18, 2026 and is located approximately 9 miles northeast of Dickens, Texas. In those the early morning hours, Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment. The fire is burning in rough topography and is being wind driven at a moderate rate of speed. Texas A&M Forest Service is in unified command with local fire departments. Fire departments on scene include Spur, Dickens, Macadoo, Matador, Roaring Springs, County of Dickens, and Sheriffs Office.
April 18th - 7:00 AM: Forward progression has been stopped. Crews continue to construct containment lines around the fire.
April 19th - 0700 AM: Crews will return to the fire this morning to continue mop-up and ensure the fire has stayed within containment lines.
April 19th - 0630 PM: The Neon White Fire is 100% contained. This is the last planned update for this fire.
