2024 Boise Fire (CASRF)

Wildfire Status:

The Boise Fire, which began on August 9, 2024, is currently active in the Six Rivers National Forest, approximately 4 miles southeast of Orleans, California. As of the latest update on September 7, 2024, the fire has burned an area of 12,913 acres, with 91% of its perimeter contained. Fire suppression efforts are ongoing, with a total of 533 personnel currently assigned to the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire agencies, including the Klamath National Forest and the North Coast Interagency Type 3 Team, have taken command of the situation. Suppression repair operations are actively taking place, particularly on the western portion of the fire, to mitigate potential impacts to cultural and natural resources. On the eastern side, suppression repair work has been completed, while snagging and chipping operations continue in and around the fire area. The situation is closely monitored to prevent any further growth of the fire.

Current weather conditions are favorable for firefighting efforts, with a slight cooling trend expected. Temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid to high 80s, with relative humidity levels ranging from the mid 20s to high 30s. Winds are anticipated to be light and variable, coming from the south. Although fuel moisture levels are recovering, they still support creeping surface fires. No significant spread of the fire is expected under the current weather conditions.
