As of July 8, 2025, the Klamath National Forest is grappling with a series of active wildfires ignited by recent thunderstorms, which resulted in the confirmation of 17 separate fires. The two most significant incidents, the Summit Fire and the Jacket Fire, have been merged into a single operation known as the Marble Complex, now under the management of a Complex Interagency Incident Management Team. Crews are making notable progress on the No Name Fire, which is close to being fully contained. Fortunately, most of the original 17 fires have either been contained, controlled, or extinguished.

Recent weather developments have posed additional challenges, as thunderstorms on the evening of July 7 brought more lightning, leading to the emergence of three new fire starts. Fire response teams are currently engaged in tackling these new incidents. Forecasts indicate that more thunderstorms are likely on July 8, which could potentially exacerbate the situation. To enhance detection and response efforts, fire lookouts are on heightened alert, and fixed-wing aircraft equipped with infrared sensors are being deployed to identify any new ignitions.

Firefighting resources are being strategically distributed throughout the forest to ensure a swift response to any new or ongoing fires. Personnel, equipment, and support teams have been mobilized from across California and even from states as far away as Texas, Idaho, and Puerto Rico. This extensive collaborative effort aims to manage the elevated fire activity in the region effectively.
