Latest update
The Dudley Fire was discovered August 26, 2026, approximately 1 mile west of Dobson Pass along FSR 429. Responding ground resources, including engines, hand crews, and a dozer, initiated direct suppression actions. Breezy southwest winds, low relative humidity, and dry vegetation contributed to rapid fire growth, challenging containment efforts and resulting in spotting approximately one-half mile across FSR 429.
Heavy helicopters and scoopers conducted water drops, while fixed-wing aircraft delivered retardant to slow fire spread and provide firefighters additional time to engage the fire. A Type 3 Incident Management Team is managing the fire under full suppression objectives. Firefighter and public safety remain the top priorities.
