Latest update
The Dudley Fire was discovered on August 26th and located approximately 1.0 miles west of Dobson Pass along FSR#429. Responding ground resources included engines, handcrews, and a dozer that initiated direct suppression actions. Breezy southwest winds, low relative humidity, and receptive fuels resulted in rapid fire growth. The fire quickly challenged containment efforts and spotted 1/2 mile across FSR 429. Heavy helicopters and scooper began water drops with fixed-wing aircraft delivered retardant on the fire which helped to slow the fires spread and allowed time for firefighter to engage the fire. Firefighter and public safety are top priorities for managing the Dudley Fire.
