The Green Mtn. Fire is located approximately eight miles west of Clark Fork, Idaho and three miles east of Kilroy Bay. The fire was discovered 8/29/2025 at 6:27pm. The fire is located just below Green Monarch Mountain on the upper 1/3 of the slope in difficult terrain overlooking Lake Pend Oreille. Aviation resources were assigned to the fire beginning on 8/30/2025.
Management of the Green Rattle Complex transitioned to the local Blue Team on September 19, 2025 at 6:00 a.m., led by Mitchell Prophet with Ryan Wagner serving as a trainee. Outgoing Northern Rockies Team 9 sincerely thanks the local community for their support and hospitality. The Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) over the complex has been lifted. The Green Rattle Complex is comprised of two fires which began on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests (IPNF) (Green Mtn. and Rattle Mountain) and two fires on the Kootenai National Forest (Spruce and Spruce Ridge).
