The Cherry Fire is burning near Vernon in Tooele County, Utah. The Cherry Fire was reported at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026 and grew grew rapidly under extreme fire weather.
Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 3, which was overseeing the nearby Iron Fire, assumed command of the Cherry Creek Fire at 0600 on June 27, 2026. The incident command team will manage both the Iron and Cherry Creek fires and move personnel and resources as needed between the two incidents.
