Over the next few days, the Northern Utah Team will focus on repair activities, continue to increase completion, and work towards opening closure areas as soon as it is safe to do so. 

Fire suppression repair activities include repairing control lines created by heavy equipment and handcrews. Specifically, crews rehabilitate these control lines into a more natural state by replacing soil and overlaying the area with brush and other forest debris. Waterbars are constructed to direct water off of fire lines to prevent erosion. These efforts are vital to restoring the ecosystem its natural state and providing proper stewardship of our forest.

Summit County Sheriff’s Office has updated evacuation notices. Hinckley Boy Scout Camp has been downgraded from GO to SET. Christmas Meadows has been downgraded from SET to READY. Manorlands and Uintalands remain in READY status.
