Cherry Fire is the 5th-largest active wildfire in Utah, burning 4 miles west of Eureka.

Latest update

The Cherry Fire was reported at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, and grew rapidly under extreme fire weather. It was reported six miles southwest of Highway 36. The fire is burning primarily in grass, sagebrush, and scattered juniper. It made a significant run Friday, June 26th, extending approximately 11 miles from south to north in only a few hours. 

Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 3, which was overseeing the nearby Iron Fire, took over command of the Cherry Fire on Saturday, June 27 at 6:00 a.m.
