Crews made good progress, establishing containment line in the Lowry Water area and bringing the fire to 9% containment. Firefighters continue to strengthen and secure Fireline while working in difficult terrain and taking advantage of opportunities to safely engage the fire.
The top priority remains protecting homes in the Reeder Subdivision and along Lowry Water Road. Crews will continue scouting and constructing direct Fireline, while developing indirect containment line as a contingency. Existing dozer line near Lowry Water and along Reeder Ridge will continue to be strengthened. Night crews will continue patrolling the Reeder Subdivision and Joe’s Valley.
Additional safety measures include improving radio communications and relocating remote fire camps to safer, more strategic locations. These moves position firefighters closer to their assignments, reduce travel time, and provide secure locations for meals, rest, and recovery.
Weather: Recent precipitation largely missed the fire area, but cooler, wetter conditions expected over the next couple of days may moderate fire behavior and provide additional opportunities for crews to make progress. Increased humidity and precipitation can reduce fire intensity and potential spread. However, rain may also create muddy roads and slick terrain, potentially limiting access for firefighters, engines, and heavy equipment.

Evacuations: The Reeder Subdivision remains under a “GO” evacuation order issued by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Residents should follow all evacuation instructions and stay informed through official sources.
Stay up to date on evacuation orders by visiting the Emery County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Conditions can change quickly. Heavy equipment and fire vehicles are working in these areas, so please drive with caution and be alert for unexpected fire traffic on narrow roads.
Closures and Safety: A temporary flight restriction is in place over the fire area. Recreational drones entering this restricted area forces aircraft to shut down wildfire air operations.
For public safety, the Manti-La Sal National Forest has issued an updated temporary closure (Forest Order #04-10-26-02-02) for portions of the Ferron Ranger District.
