Wildfire Status:

The Shelly Fire, located in the Klamath National Forest near Shelly Lake in the Marble Mountain Wilderness, has been declared 100% contained as of August 6, 2024. The incident, which originated on July 3, 2024, burned an area of approximately 15,520 acres. While the fire is fully contained, Klamath National Forest fire personnel will continue to patrol the area to monitor for any potential flare-ups. A Burned Area Response Team (BAER) has been assigned to manage the aftermath and assess the fire’s impact.

All evacuation orders related to the Shelly Fire have been lifted, allowing residents and visitors to return safely to their homes and the area.
