Pomas Fire 2025 (2025-06-15)

Pomas Fire aerial reconnaissance conducted. Fire continues burning in upper reaches of Entiat drainage with ongoing suppression efforts. Current size approximately 3,400+ acres with Level 1 advisory still in effect for Holden Village.

Pomas Fire closure area significantly expanded to include portions of Wenatchee River Ranger District (Order #06-17-25-05-15). Closure now extends to Chiwawa River area and includes additional trails and campgrounds due to secondary fire line construction activities.

Fire remains 3 air miles from Holden Village and 12 air miles from Stehekin. Level 1 advisory continues for Holden Village. Hotshot crews building direct fire line above Myrtle Lake area to stop southward spread down Entiat Valley.

Fire closure area expanded again (Order #06-17-25-05-14). Additional trails and campgrounds closed as fire continues burning within 2015 Wolverine Fire footprint. No evacuation orders in effect - no structures or homes currently threatened.

Glacier Peak Wilderness closure area expanded to include campgrounds and trails southeast of the wilderness due to Pomas Fire operations. Silver Falls Trail and Campground, Ice Lakes area closed to public for firefighter safety.

Formal Glacier Peak Wilderness closure order issued (Order #06-17-05-25-12). Comprehensive trail and area closures implemented including Entiat River Trail, Cow Creek Trail, Myrtle Lake Trail, and multiple wilderness access points. Effective through October 15, 2025.

Initial Glacier Peak Wilderness trail closures implemented for public safety. Ice Lakes area closed for fire operations. Entiat River Trail #1400 past Duncan Hill Trail #1434, Snowbrushy Trail #1230, and Garland Peak Trail #1408 closed.

Pomas Fire ignited by lightning strike in Glacier Peak Wilderness, first reported at 10:40 AM. Fire started at 15 acres, approximately 36 miles northwest of Entiat. Smokejumpers and aerial resources immediately dispatched.
