Butler Creek Fire (MTMTS)

Wildfire Status:

The Butler Creek Fire in the United States is currently 100% contained, with resources continuing to patrol the fire and monitor for any activity. The fire started on July 22, 2024, and has burned a total of 284 acres of land. The cause of the fire is reported to be human-caused, and it is located 5 miles northwest of Missoula.

Firefighters are remaining vigilant as a Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the Missoula area, indicating conditions that can create rapidly changing fire behavior. All evacuation warnings, orders, and road closures have been lifted, but crews will continue patrol operations. Drivers are urged to reduce speed around the fire area to avoid conflicts with emergency traffic.
