Wolf Creek Fire (IDPAF)

Wildfire Status:

The Wolf Creek Fire, located approximately 11 miles northwest of Cascade, Idaho, was detected on July 24, 2024, following a passing lightning storm. As of October 3, 2024, the fire has been successfully contained, with 100% of its perimeter secured. The total area affected by the fire is approximately 1,154 acres. A Type 4 Incident Command organization has taken charge to oversee the completion of firefighting efforts, which includes mopping up remaining hotspots in the Little Weiser River drainage and conducting suppression repair work in priority areas.

Currently, there are 65 personnel actively involved in the post-fire management and recovery operations. The area surrounding the fire is under a larger Fire Closure Order due to the Lava Fire, restricting public access to ensure safety and facilitate ongoing firefighting efforts.
