Wolf Creek Fire (IDPAF)

Wildfire Status:

The Wolf Creek Fire, located approximately 5 miles southwest of Donnelly, Idaho, has been fully contained as of August 31, 2024. The incident, which began on July 24, 2024, following a lightning storm, has affected an area of 1,154 acres. The fire management has transitioned back to the Payette National Forest under a Type 4 Incident Command organization, with ongoing efforts to monitor and mitigate any potential flare-ups. Currently, there are 65 personnel assigned to the fire, focusing on mopping up residual heat, particularly in the Little Weiser River drainage.

In response to the fire, a larger Fire Closure Order has been enacted, restricting access to the affected area to ensure safety and facilitate recovery efforts. This closure order includes the Poison Timber Point Road and the Poison Timber Trail, which are closed to the public to prevent any disturbances that could hinder suppression and rehabilitation activities.
