Wildfire Status:

As of October 23, 2024, the Bridge Fire in the Angeles National Forest is being actively managed, with 99% of its perimeter secured. Recent improvements in weather conditions, particularly a significant decrease in wind speeds, have enabled firefighting crews and aircraft to effectively limit the spread of the fire. Over the past 48 hours, extensive aerial fire retardant applications have significantly contributed to this progress. Despite these efforts, unburned vegetation within the fire's perimeter may continue to flare up, resulting in visible smoke and flames.

In response to the ongoing threat, the Angeles National Forest has enacted a closure order for the Bridge Fire area, effective from October 18, 2024, through December 31, 2025. This order restricts access to National Forest roads, trails, and facilities impacted by the fire. Residents affected by the fire can find valuable resources and information through designated websites for both San Bernardino County and Los Angeles County. Additionally, damage inspection teams have completed their assessments to assist impacted residents.

Road closures remain in effect in the vicinity of the fire, including East Fork Road and various sections of state highways, with limited access allowed for residents. Fire officials continue to monitor the situation closely, and members of the public are urged to report any new smoke or flames by calling 9-1-1. A Temporary Flight Restriction is also in place to prevent drones from interfering with firefighting operations, which could exacerbate the situation.
