Wildfire Status:

As of October 23, 2024, the Bridge Fire in the Angeles National Forest is currently 99% contained, thanks to improved weather conditions including a notable reduction in winds. Firefighters and aerial support have made significant progress in controlling the fire's spread, utilizing extensive aerial deliveries of fire retardant over the past 48 hours. Although the fire is largely under control, unburned areas within the perimeter may continue to flare up, and smoke could remain visible for some time.

In response to the fire, the Angeles National Forest has implemented a closure order affecting National Forest System roads, trails, and other facilities impacted by the fire, which will remain in effect until December 31, 2025. Damage inspection teams have completed their assessments, and resources are available for residents affected by the fire through San Bernardino and Los Angeles County websites.

Road closures are currently in place in several areas, including East Fork Road and parts of State Routes 39 and 2, among others. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of firefighting operations and to facilitate recovery efforts. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about road conditions and closures by checking local resources and the websites of Caltrans and county road closure lists.
