Quail Springs Fire (AZASD)

Wildfire Status:

The Quail Springs Fire, located 14 miles south of St. George, Utah, on the Arizona Strip Field Office, was reported on July 13, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. The fire has burned 1,508 acres and is currently 80% contained. Resources including Type 6 engines, Type 3 engine, Type 2 crews, and a Type 3 incident team are working to suppress the fire. The fire was caused by lightning strikes, and accurate mapping has helped in determining the fire's size and containment status.

Additionally, the Gulch Fire, located 12 miles south/southwest of St. George, has burned 926 acres with a containment of 90%. The fire was reported on the same day as the Quail Springs Fire. The response to both fires includes crews from the BLM Arizona Strip District, partner agencies, and municipal crews.
