Wildfire Status:
The Slab Fire, located one mile east of Goose Lake on the New Meadows Ranger District, spans 50 acres and is currently in a Controlled status under patrol. Detected on September 8, firefighters have made significant progress in containing the fire, with no increase in spread reported. A recent rainfall has contributed positively to containment efforts. There are no area closures in effect, and nearby, the Ram Fire has been contained, controlled, and declared out.
As of now, approximately 50% of the fire's perimeter is contained. Firefighting agencies will continue to monitor the situation closely, but unless conditions change, this will be the last update regarding the Slab Fire. The proactive response from fire agencies and favorable weather conditions have been instrumental in successfully managing this incident.
