Ferris Fire has burned 10,637 acres, burning 11 miles north of Dolores and has grown 5,860 acres in the last 24 hours.

The Ferris Fire, Far Draw Fire, and Doe Canyon Fires all began on June 27, 2026 on the Dolores Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest. As of this morning, the Far Draw Fire merged with the Ferris Fire. The fires are located in The Glade Area near Narraguinnep Canyon north of Dolores, CO. Lightning is the suspected cause of these fires, which are in very close in proximity to each other and are being managed as the Ferris Fire by San Juan Team 8, the local Type 3 Incident Management Team.

Evacuations and Closures: Evacuations have been implemented in Bradfield, from the Dolores Bradfield Campground, along Highway 504 to McPhee Dam. While there are no recreational closures in place, visitors are advised to stay away from the fire area. Dolores County has issued evacuations for the Private Land inholdings north of Glade Ranches.
