Wildfire Status:

The Fork Fire, which originated on July 19, 2024, has reached 100% containment, encompassing an area of 301 acres. As of July 28, firefighters successfully constructed and improved firelines around the fire's perimeter, and the site is now under patrol status by aircraft due to the challenging steep terrain. While East Fork Road has reopened to Glendora Mountain Road, some areas remain closed to the public, including access points to the Bridge to Nowhere.

Currently, several recreational areas are open for use, including the North and West Forks of the San Gabriel River, East Fork Road, and the San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area, which operates on weekends. However, Camp Bonita Road and related access points have been closed to ensure safety. Visitors are advised to follow fire danger regulations, as the risk is categorized as HIGH. All campfires and stove use require a valid California Campfire Permit, with specific restrictions in place to prevent further fire incidents.

Despite previous evacuations from the East Fork of the San Gabriel River on July 19, no additional evacuations have been reported since then. Fire agencies continue to monitor the situation closely, and the public is encouraged to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines as the fire danger persists.
