Spring Pine Fire 2026
Spring Pine Fire has burned 46 acres, burning 3 miles east of Bastrop.

The Spring Pine Fire started the evening of March 22, 2026 and is located approximately 3 miles east of Bastrop, Texas. The fire was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment. Texas A&M Forest Service and local fire departments are in joint command of the fire.
Active fire behavior with group tree torching was observed. Firefighters worked to develop a plan for a firing operation using existing fire breaks. These fire breaks were improved in preparation for a safe firing operation. The fire bumped to Highway 21 where locals worked to hold the fire there as dozers began direct line construction. Several structures on the north side of the fire were voluntarily evacuated.
Resources worked through Tuesday March 24th patrolling and mopping up hot spots. They determined the fire to be 100% contained.
As of the evening of March 24, 2026,the fire is 100% contained. This will be the final update on Spring Pine Fire.
