Wildfire Status:
The Bridge Creek Fire started on July 19th, 2024, located 11 miles north of Keller and estimated at 3998 acres. Fire managers are positive about the work done so far, with the fire remaining inside the built fire lines. The increase in acreage is due to better mapping and continued burning within the fire lines. Firefighters are capitalizing on favorable weather conditions to extinguish the fire, protect structures, and strengthen fire lines.
The fire is currently 100% contained, with an estimated containment date of August 15, 2024. Fuels involved include short grass, brush, and timber, with minimal smoldering events. Planned actions include monitoring the fire, with projected incident activity of smoldering interior for the next 72 hours. The fire is being managed alongside the Swawilla I fire by the Southern Area Team 2.
As of the most recent update, there are no weather-related concerns affecting the fire. The fire is being closely monitored, and the response efforts are focused on ensuring the fire remains contained and addressing any remaining hotspots.
