Wildfire Status:

The Bridge Fire, which began on September 8, 2024, has currently burned approximately 54,795 acres and is 59% contained. Firefighting efforts are being coordinated under a Unified Command that includes the CIIMT5, Los Angeles County Fire, and CAL FIRE. As of now, there are 1,870 personnel actively working on containment, with efforts ongoing to manage the fire's perimeter and address hotspots, particularly on the northwest flank near Jackson Lake.

Today, favorable weather conditions, including a lingering inversion layer, helped limit the fire's spread, allowing crews to strengthen containment lines and work directly along the fire's edge. Firefighters are focusing on halting the fire's advance into the drainages northwest of Lytle Creek and have made significant progress on the south and west flanks by establishing secondary containment lines. Suppression repair efforts are also set to begin, aimed at restoring disturbed areas to minimize erosion.

In terms of public safety, evacuation orders are in effect for the Mile High area, while evacuation warnings have been issued for Bear Canyon and certain East Fork communities. Local Assistance Centers are being established to provide support to affected residents, and damage inspection teams are updating maps to assist those impacted by the fire. Weather forecasts indicate rain and a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow, which could pose a risk of debris flow in recently burned areas. Following this, temperatures are expected to rise, potentially increasing fire risk again.
