The Shingle Creek Fire started June 21. Idaho Department of Lands (IDL), the Forest Service, and multiple partners responded. Command of the fire was returned to the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest Salmon River District on July 7th at 1200.
As of July 7th, fire behavior has remained minimal, and firefighters have increased containment to 85%, substantially reducing the risk of fire spreading. As the season progresses, local firefighters will continue patrolling existing control features to ensure the fire stays within its footprint.
