Latest update
The 4170 Tule Rd Fire began on June 14, 2026. Driven by high winds it quickly grew to over 20,000 acres. Local resources worked day and night to halt fire growth, which burned in light, flashy, fuels. On June 17, Northwest Team 2 assumed command of the fire. Over the next few days firefighters completed establishing direct and indirect line around the fire perimeter and quickly built containment across most of the fire. As of June 21, crews are mopping up, patrolling the perimeter, assessing for resource damage, and conducting backhaul.
A Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team will be responding to the 4170 Tule Rd Fire to support the post-fire emergency response. BAER teams specialize in identifying the repair and rehabilitation needs of fire affected areas, caused by the fire itself and the suppression activities. These teams often include expertise in hydrology, soils, biology, botany, fisheries, and archeology and will work to provide recommendations to the local unit for short-term and long-term emergency stabilization actions to repair and improve the land.
