Wildcat Fire 2025
Wildcat Fire is the 2nd-largest wildfire this season in Washington, burning 30 miles southeast of Enumclaw.

The Wildcat Fire was started by lightning in the William O. Douglas Wilderness and was first reported on Monday, August 25, 2025. It grew slowly until Saturday, August 30, when winds caused increased fire activity, with the fire spotting and flanking. Firefighters were challenged with hot and dry conditions, which fueled fire growth. Complex Incident Management NW Team 10 assumed command of the fire on September 3, 2025. On September 16, 2025, the fire was returned to a Type 3 IMT team. The SEWAIMT Team 1 took command of the fire at 0600 on Tuesday, Sep 16, 2025. On September 29, 2025 command of the Wildcat Fire was transferred to a local Type 3 Team.
On October 8, 2025 command of the Wildcat Fire was transferred to the local unit. There will not be additional updates on this fire.
