Salt Flats Fire 2025

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance for a wildfire in Aransas County. The fire was reported to be very active to extreme with mandatory evacuations in process by 2:00 p.m. Multiple fire departments are assisting with the fire including: Rockport, Fulton, Lamar, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, Goliad, Odem, Sinton, Portland, Gregory, Nueces ESD3, Annaville, Port Aransas and Beeville. Aircraft and resources on the ground are actively engaged in fighting the fire and protecting structures. The closure of the 35 bypass road and evacuations will be assessed April 10.
