The Flat Fork Creek Fire started the evening of March 19, 2026, approximately 4 miles southeast of Tenaha, TX and was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance heavy equipment and firefighters. The fire is currently in joint command between Texas A&M Forest Service and local firefighters.
Multiple heads of the fire were observed Thursday evening. Crews worked on both the right and left flank with heavy equipment. Firefighters are on scene Friday, March 20 and are continuing to improve containment lines.
