Conner Fire (NVCCD)

Wildfire Status:

The Conner Fire, currently active in the Pinenut Range, approximately 8 miles southeast of Gardnerville, NV, has burned an estimated 17,714 acres. As of June 30, 2025, the fire is reported to be 100% contained, showcasing minimal activity characterized by smoldering and creeping behavior along most of its perimeter. The incident began on June 20, 2025, and the fire's cause remains undetermined. The current incident command is being managed by the Nevada Type 3, Team 3 Incident Management Team.

Firefighting efforts have involved a total of 258 personnel, who will continue to monitor the fire perimeter, conduct mop-up operations, and protect any unburned vegetation, particularly in sensitive sage grouse habitats. Planned actions also include the implementation of suppression repair activities, ensuring firefighter safety during these operations.

Weather conditions are presenting some challenges, with high temperatures expected to reach the low 90s, accompanied by breezy west-northwest winds that could gust up to 30 mph. Humidity levels are anticipated to dip below 20% during the day, which could hinder firefighting efforts. However, overnight humidity recoveries are expected to be between 35-45%, providing some relief. Fire officials are closely monitoring these conditions to ensure effective management of the incident as it moves into the projected containment date of July 4, 2025.
