Wildfire Status:

The Middle Fork Complex Fire, which consists of the Bulldog and Nellie fires, is currently active within the Boise National Forest. As of the latest update, the fire has burned approximately 61,482 acres, with 35% of its perimeter contained. The complex originated from a series of lightning strikes on August 5, 2024, leading to multiple ignitions in a short timeframe. The difficult, steep terrain poses challenges for fire crews, who are prioritizing safety and the protection of life and property.

Firefighting efforts are being coordinated under the Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 2, led by Incident Commander Tony DeMasters and Tyler Hecht.
