Fish Creek Fire (WYBTF)

Wildfire Status:

The Fish Creek Fire, which has recently merged with the Pack Trail Fire, is currently active and poses significant challenges for firefighting efforts. As of October 5, 2024, approximately 87% of the fire's perimeter is being monitored and managed under a confine/point protection strategy. This involves restricting the fire's spread using natural barriers and implementing protective measures for areas at risk. The fire was first detected on August 16, 2024, in a remote area of the Jackson Ranger District within the Bridger-Teton National Forest, characterized by heavy timber.

Fire agencies are actively engaged in combatting the flames, with resources primarily focused on the merged incident. A public meeting to discuss the fire's status is scheduled, reflecting the agencies' commitment to transparency and community engagement.
