Lane 1 Fire (OR77S)

Wildfire Status:

The Lane 1 Fire, located approximately 6 miles southeast of Dorena, Oregon, has made significant progress in containment, currently holding at 99% contained. This wildfire was ignited by a lightning storm on July 17, 2024, which initiated eight separate fires that eventually merged into one. As of the latest update, the fire has burned an area of approximately 25,951 acres. The Northwest Complex Incident Management Team 7, which assumed command of both the Lane 1 and Homestead Complex fires on September 13, 2024, is actively managing the firefighting efforts.

Currently, there are 92 personnel assigned to the Lane 1 Fire, employing both direct and indirect tactics to secure the fire perimeter and prevent further spread. Fire behavior has been characterized mainly by backing and smoldering, with occasional tree torching. Planned actions include repairing damage from suppression efforts, such as restoring handlines and dozer lines, as well as implementing erosion prevention measures and removing hazardous trees.
