Conner Fire (NVCCD)

Wildfire Status:

The Conner Fire, located in the Pinenut Range about eight miles southeast of Gardnerville, NV, has currently burned approximately 17,714 acres and is 96% contained. As of the latest update, the fire has shown minimal activity, primarily exhibiting smoldering and creeping behavior. Fire management efforts are ongoing, with a total of 258 personnel engaged in containment and suppression activities. The incident is being managed by the Nevada Type 3 Incident Management Team, and the estimated date for full containment is set for July 4, 2025.

Firefighters are focused on mopping up, patrolling, and monitoring the fire perimeter, with specific efforts to protect unburned vegetation in sensitive areas, including sage grouse habitats and cultural resources. In addition to these actions, suppression repair efforts are being conducted to ensure firefighter safety and minimize environmental impact.

Weather conditions are expected to present some challenges, with temperatures predicted to rise to the low 90s over the coming days. Winds will shift from the southeast in the morning to the northwest in the afternoon, potentially gusting up to 30 mph. These conditions, coupled with low humidity levels below 20%, may create additional fire risks as the week progresses.
