Snag Fire (IDBOF)

Wildfire Status:

The Snag Fire, currently part of the larger West Mountain Fires in Idaho, has burned approximately 33% of its perimeter as of the latest update. Managed by the Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team Three, the fire is situated 9.5 miles east of Cascade, Idaho, and has been active since its ignition on August 5, 2024. As fire agencies focus their efforts on containment, they are closely monitoring the situation to mitigate further spread and ensure the safety of nearby communities.

In response to the fire, local agencies, including the Boise National Forest, Idaho Department of Lands, and Bureau of Land Management, have implemented Stage 1 fire restrictions across various land types within the West Central Mountains Fire Restrictions Zone. These restrictions aim to limit fire risk in the area.
