Gun Range 2026

The Gun Range Fire is located on the Osceola National Forest, one mile northeast of Watertown, Florida. The current size is 129 acres with 85% containment. The fire was detected on April 19th. The cause is undetermined.

The wildfire remains within established control lines with minimal fire behavior expected. Firefighters continue to focus on hot spot detection, removing hazard trees and structure protection. 

The Lewis D. Whitaker Osceola Shooting Range is closed until further notice per the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Closures and Restrictions: 

• Columbia and Baker Counties are under a temporary burn ban. 
• Open burning of yard debris is prohibited year-round per county ordinance.
