Wildfire Status:

The Black Canyon Fire is currently active in the Wenas Valley area of Yakima County, Washington, approximately 10 miles northwest of Naches. The fire has affected a total of 9,211 acres and is 99% contained, with an estimated full containment date of August 1, 2024. There are currently 27 personnel working on controlling the fire, with minimal fire activity reported and unburned pockets continuing to burn in the interior.
