The Burdoin Fire started on July 18, 2025 at 2:29 p.m. The fire is burning in Klickitat County, Washington, north of the Columbia River near Bingen and Lyle. The cause of the fire is undetermined. The fire has been supported by Washington State Department of Natural Resources, Washington State Fire Mobilization, West Klickitat Regional Fire Authority, Klickitat County Fire District 4 - Lyle, Klickitat County Fire District 12, High Prairie Fire District 14, and US Forest Service, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
The fire burned on both sides of Highway 14 and progressed east toward Lyle. There are level 1 evacuations in place. Information on evacuations can be found on Klickitat County Emergency Management's Page, https://www.klickitatcounty.gov/249/Emergency-Management
The weather continues to be warm and windy at times. There is still a risk of embers blowing past fire lines and starting spot fires. Crews will continue with structure protection and extinguishing hot areas near the fire perimeter and by structures. As sections of the Burdoin Fire's perimeter are contained, surplus hose and equipment are being retrieved from the fire line. Work has begun to repair damage caused by the fire suppression activities.
The Snyder Canyon Fire started on July 23, 2025 at 1:38 p.m. Complex Incident Management Team Northwest 13 assumed command of this fire on July 24 at 6:00 a.m. The Snyder Canyon Fire was contained on July 27, and management of this fire returned to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources on July 29, 2025. No further updates for Snyder Canyon Fire will be posted to Inciweb, but fire resources will continue to patrol it, watching for residual hot spots.
On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Complex Incident Management Team Northwest 13 will be transferring command of the Burdoin Fire to a Type 4 incident management organization at 6:00 p.m. This Inciweb site will no longer be maintained after that time.
