Bear Hallow Fire Active 2026
Bear Hallow Fire has burned 400 acres, burning 7 miles northwest of Runaway Bay.

The Bear Hallow Fire started on August 3, 2026, in Jack County and was responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters and heavy equipment at 1:58 pm and quickly responded. Texas A&M Forest Service is currently in unified command with local fire departments. Heavy equipment is making slow progress due to dense vegetation and rough terrain. Aviation resources were ordered and continue to assist in suppression efforts.
A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place for the area over the Bear Hallow Fire [NOTAM: FDC 6/1456, https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr3/?page=detail_6_1456]. Please avoid the area to provide a safe environment for firefighting aircraft.
