Evacuations: Curry County Sheriff John Ward has removed all evacation levels for the Moon Complex.
The Emergency Area and Trail closure for the Moon Complex that went into effect November 14th of 2025, has been rescinded. Effective, February 24th, 2026, this closure was replaced with Emergency Trail Closure 06-10-28-26-04, which re-opens many of the camping areas along the lower Rogue River Corridor. While much of the fire-impacted area has been reopened, recreationists will continue to see effects from the fire and ongoing repair work in the area.

The remaining Rogue River Trail Closure begins at the western trailhead of the Rogue River Trail (Trail #1160) and follows the trail to the east for approximately 8 miles to Jackson Creek. The trail from Jackson Creek to Clay Hill Creek will be opened by May 1, 2026. The Forest will be assessing the segment from Clay Hill Creek to Foster Bar in the spring of 2026.
On September 3, a lightning event on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest caused a number of fires in the vicinity of the Rogue River about 11 miles northeast of Agness, Oregon. Six of these made up the initial Moon Complex: the Backbone, Brushy, Pinnacle, Tate, Paradise, and Stair fires.
The Moon Complex is now in 100% containment status.
Fire Restrictions: Tuesday, October 16, 2025, The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest decreased the Fire Danger Rating to LOW across all five Ranger Districts and removed Public Use Restrictions forest-wide as well as on the Wild & Scenic section of the Rogue River.
