The eastern perimeter of the fire has been hardened by the hand crews. Estimated containment date is 07/13/24
Fire behavior: short range spotting, minimal creeping, and smoldering.
Objectives:
- Continue to secure fire perimeter to minimize fire growth towards the north.
- Prevent and minimize fire impact and threat to Hwy 140.
- Prevent fire from spreading west of the ridgetop to prevent impact to Lahontan cutthroat trout habitat (LCT streams) and riparian areas.
- Minimize impact to wildlife, sage grouse habitat, and grazing allotments.

Fire crews made significant progress on the fire, putting in control lines on the northern, western, and southern portions of the fire. Hand crews and aircraft will continue to work on containing eastern perimeter of the fire in Bilk Creek Mountains.
Fire behavior: short range spotting at higher elevations. Does not present significant risk for wildfire growth.

- Continue to secure fire perimeter to 1) minimize fire growth and 2) prevent and minimize fire impact and threat to Hwy 140.
- Minimize impact to wildlife and habitat, including sage grouse habitat and riparian areas
Firefighters continue to hold the north, west, and southern containment lines constructed by fire crews yesterday, July 7th. Today firefighters will use direct and indirect attack tactics to keep the fire from progressing eastward through the Bilk Creek Mountain Range. Tactics will include use of hand crews, engines, dozers, and aircraft.
