Wildfire Status:
The Moser Fire in 2024 is currently 100% contained, with a size of 96 acres and located 4 miles east of Cloudcroft along Highway 82. The incident commander is the US Forest Service, Lincoln National Forest, Sacramento Ranger District. The fire started on May 20, 2024, with the cause still under investigation.
Evacuation orders have been issued for areas from mile marker 21-23 on the north side of Highway 82, including Alpine Rd., Hollywood Blvd., Pine Ridge Loop Rd., Wildwood Loop, and connected roads. Southern areas from mile marker 21-23 are in SET evacuation status. The fire response includes firefighters from various agencies, two dozers, one helicopter, and additional aviation resources as needed.
