Brady Fire Prescott NF (AZPNF)

Wildfire Status:

The Brady Fire, which ignited on February 10, 2025, is currently burning in the Prescott National Forest, west of Mayer, Arizona, near the community of Pine Flats. The fire has spread to an estimated 363 acres, with 49% of its perimeter now contained. This updated acreage reflects more accurate mapping of the fire's extent. As the fire continues to consume dry fuels, smoke may be visible in surrounding areas, prompting local authorities to advise residents to avoid the vicinity. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office has closed County Road 177 leading into Pine Flat to ensure the safety of both residents and firefighting personnel.

In response to the Brady Fire, a total of 83 firefighters are currently engaged in suppression efforts. The Incident Commander, Charles Ebert, is overseeing operations, which include monitoring for any increase in fire behavior. While minimal fire activity has been reported, with backing and creeping fire behavior observed, fire agencies remain vigilant. Planned actions include ongoing monitoring and preparedness for any changes in conditions.

Weather conditions are currently favorable for firefighting efforts, with mostly cloudy skies and an 80% chance of precipitation expected throughout the day. Snow showers are predicted for the morning, transitioning to rain showers in the afternoon as a storm system approaches the area. Snow levels are projected to rise from around 4,500 feet to 7,500 feet, which could further aid in controlling the fire's spread. In the short term, minimal spread is anticipated, particularly due to the forecasted precipitation.
