Wildfire Status:

The Jack Saddle Fire in Oregon started on July 17, 2024, and has merged with the Clark 900 and Quartz Fires as of July 28, 2024. The fire is currently 1,248 acres in size with 0% containment. There are 152 personnel working on the fire, and the estimated containment date is October 1, 2024. The fire is burning in timber, closed timber litter, and light logging slash, with dry fuels contributing to moderate to active fire behavior.

The current response includes efforts to mop up and improve fire lines, scout and identify indirect containment lines, and protect natural and cultural values. The weather conditions are currently seasonable with light northwest winds, temperatures in the 70s, and minimum relative humidity values ranging from 35 to 45 percent. An approaching weak frontal system is expected to bring increased moisture and a chance of light showers, providing some relief in the coming days.

The fire agencies are working to manage the Lane 1, Clark 900, Adam Mountain, Mineral, and Puddin Fires, with all costs tracked under Lane 1. The incident management team is overseeing the new incorporated fires as the Clark 900 fire. The projected incident activity over the next few days includes moderate fire growth with active surface fire behavior and the possibility of torching trees.
